Social Debate: Do we really understand the importance and benefits of culture?

We all come from different backgrounds and ethnicities, here in America a lot of our national news and media debates are over race. You would think that all of us just being human and having a sense of compassion would be the motivation we need to come together. It isn’t always that simple though most of us come from different homes and raised under different values. Therefore, some of us don’t see life how it should be seen yet we see through the past trauma and experiences of our predecessors.  We are raised literally through the eyes of the ones who raised us, so their beliefs are your beliefs their habits are your habits, and so on. A lot of us feel strongly about certain topics regarding race and social issues because our point of view is most relatable amongst the debate. We feel that our opinion through our eyes is the law and that is not how we should be living our lives. We should take time and understand one another with compassion. We can debate and solve problems with points of view from two sides. It’ll be hard because it is completely out of our comfort zone to do so. I wish to propose all of us find a challenge to build cultures and take time to understand them. If we do that, we will bring light to relations we share as human beings which in time lead you to feel compassion for your fellow brothers and sisters on this planet. This time more than ever this planet needs love and authentic connection-building from all aspects of diversities. I would love to see a new form for us to bridge cultures and understand each other better. I send this message with love and I hope I inspired you today. Please, don’t be afraid to be great.
